Dr. Bruce Stroud is a 22 year veteran practitioner in the field of Physical Therapy. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. Bruce went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Richard Stockton State College in Galloway, NJ. He once again continued his education earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. Bruce became interested in BREAKTHRU Fitness & Physical Therapy because of their philosophy that health and fitness are a natural continuum of care for all types of injuries and diagnoses.
During his vast educational and work experiences, he received training in a variety of approaches including the McKenzie, Maitland, Barnes Myofascial Release, and is a certified massage therapist. Bruce considers himself a life-long learner and enjoys developing new skills and using evidence based techniques to problem solve. His experience and training allows him to craft a holistic treatment approach tailored to each individual.
Bruce assists in the Physical Therapy department at Newman College where he performs research reviews enabling him to maintain current knowledge of research. He has worked in most areas of Physical Therapy including pediatrics, outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facilities and home care. Bruce has a special interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, due in great part to the age of his children and their athleticism.
Bruce grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and now resides in Medford with his wife and children. During his free time, he can be found watching his son’s football games and lacrosse games or attending his daughter’s soccer games and visiting her at college. He enjoys tinkering doing home repair and remodeling.
