Dr. Rebecca Rizzo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Saint Joseph’s University and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University. She specializes in concussion and vestibular physical therapy and is a Certified Vestibular Rehabilitation therapist through the American Institute of Balance, a Certified Concussion-Wise Instructor, and certified in ImPACT, the most widely used neurocognitive test to help evaluate and manage concussions. ImPACT certification allows her to perform pre-concussion baseline testing. Rebecca is excited to collaborate with Breakthru’s Concussion Program team and to support the community. With her knowledge in concussions and head injuries, she advocates for interaction among the entire team including the parents, coaches, athletic trainers, physicians, and the schools, to provide high quality evidence based treatment.
Dr. Rizzo is passionate about educating and giving back to the community through involvement. She has presented locally to on balance disorders, the risk and prevalence of concussion, and on other sports-related injuries.
Rebecca also enjoys rehabilitating patients with orthopedic, sports medicine, neurologic, and chronic systemic conditions. Rebecca is enthusiastic about working with clients within Breakthru’s unique continuum model that moves people beyond their injury into fitness, so they can achieve their health goals, and maximize their quality of life. She currently resides in Runnemede, New Jersey with her husband. When she is not treating at Breakthru, she is the Director and Coordinator of TOPSoccer in Mount Laurel, a soccer program for children with special needs. She also enjoys traveling, salt water fishing and being outdoors.
