Join Breakthru Physical Therapy +Fitness at our Medford Taunton Forge Location  for an evening discussion featuring Coach Jason Kilderry and our very own, Dr. Kevin Schnitzer!  Coach Jason will be discussing training, nutritional, and recovery considerations for female endurance athletes that aid in improved performance, less injuries, and most importantly, improved health, based on the latest scientific literature.  Coach Jason has an extensive background in exercise physiology and kinesiology and is able to break down popular claims about these topics and deliver real answers in a fun, applicable, interactive and easy to understand manner.

How to Achieve your Resolutions in 2014

Within a week, one in four will have dropped their resolution attempt while half will have abandoned it within a month. Before you find yourself in this unfortunate position, follow these simple rules to stay on track and make this year a year to remember.

  1. Be Realistic
    It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new year and a new start, but don’t let that turn your dream into a nightmare. Your goal needs to be reasonable or else you’re setting yourself up for failure before you even start.To make your goal a reality, start by taking a look at the big picture. Understand where you want to be and where you’re at now. If your journey were a road trip, envision your start and end points. Next, make the steps to reach that goal so simple that it’s almost fool proof. Don’t set a lofty goal that will overwhelm you when the motivation ends. Set a goal that will motivate you to keep going. We’re creatures of habit, and if we’re not constantly striving toward that goal, we’ll revert back to the person we don’t want to become. Fat Loss Training For Women

The secret to losing fat and gaining a lean, attractive, and feminine physique has nothing to do with fad diets, “super foods”, starvation, pills, or hours of cardio. There is one magic word, however, that is the key to successful fat loss. That word is METABOLISM. And by that I mean the rate at which your body burns calories throughout the day.

With all the contradicting advice in the media, the majority of women today have almost completely demolished their metabolisms. The typical American diet consists of too many grains, man-made and unhealthy fats, and added sugars and not enough lean protein, healthy fats, or vegetables and fruit. And due to the regular consumption of calorie and sugar-laden beverages, most people are in a constant state of dehydration.
