Dr. Shannon Urban is a dedicated physical therapist with nearly 10 years of clinical experience. She specializes in post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation and the treatment and prevention of posture-related spinal conditions. In addition to her orthopedic focus, Dr. Shannon has experience treating a wide range of neurological disorders, including Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease.

She is passionate about helping individuals of all ages lead healthier, more active lives. Dr. Shannon takes pride in guiding each patient toward their unique goals, combining evidence-based treatment with encouragement and empowerment. Her approach emphasizes both understanding the “why” behind therapy and enjoying the journey toward improved health.

My son has been coming to break thru on and off for over a year. I have always given it 5 stars but today is something more extraordinary. As I sit here watching my son receive his therapy with Matt C (who is absolutely amazing and patient with him), his everyday therapist, Shannon (also great with him & understands his limitations but pushes him where she can and with great positive feedback so he feels accomplished), is still helping out with him. They all work very well together and do what is best for each patient. What really stood out to me today was Lauren and Sofie. Lauren has a very sweet patient with disabilities (as does my son). I have never seen such compassion and sweetness before. These 2 therapists have gone above and beyond for this patient and made her feel so special. I am beyond impressed and can’t express the amount of support and heart I see in them. The last thing I have to say is that the aid that works with my son, (Caleb) is so sweet and upbeat, very respectful!!

I have struggled with plantar fasciitis for years. I would experience debilitating arch pain in my feet on backpacking trips - literally felt like my feet went through a meat grinder. My foot doctor got me custom insoles but didn’t feel any improvement. Finally decided to try PT and my doctor recommended Break Thru. I worked with Kennedy for about 12 weeks. Seems long, but I just ran a marathon (26 miles) this past weekend, and had absolutely zero foot pain!!!! Highly recommend working with Kennedy.

Joining Breakthru was the best decision I made in 2021. I started with PT. Upon recovery of that issue I began training with Lisa, and then Steve when Lisa was no longer there. I have made excellent progress towards strength training goals with Steve. Three days ago I started PT with Matt because of a knee injury. With excellent advice, therapy and training from the two of them I am feeling so much better and hopeful that someday I will be an awesome 80 year old!

I especially appreciate that staff ask for feedback during sessions to ensure client is comfortable. They monitor your pain level by asking directly so not to cause discomfort, harm or injury. They never leave client unattended and are readily available as they monitor all activity for safety and compliance via consistent gentle reminders. Staff communicate verbally and non-verbally, demonstrating directives, hands on, providing needed aid and assistance but also communicate verbally in a calm and reassuring manner. Staff are positive, upbeat and encouraging. They do not hesitate to provide verbal positive reinforcement throughout and at close of session. I feel like I am being rescued! Finally getting the help I need. They also explain the physiology and mechanics of exercises in layman terms so client is well informed and can relate.

Matt was very pleasant and thorough . He asked a lot of questions before beginning therapy. He had read the papers I had filled out and was prepared.First, he explained the exercises I’d be doing and explained how they would help. Then he demonstrated each one and monitored them to make sure I was doing them correctly.When I was done, he gave me a printed copy of the exercises so that I could do them at home. In addition, he sent a video of the exercises as a visual via my email.I am very pleased with my session and look forward to the next appt as I work to strengthen my hip muscles.

Over the past 2 years, I had been dealing with a hamstring injury and throughout that time, I had met with multiple trainers and specialists. I was unable to find a solution until I met Tim. I worked with Tim throughout the summer, and he helped me get back to running full-time and did a great job in figuring out ways to increase strength and flexibility in my hamstrings, something that I had lacked ever since I started running 4 years ago. As tough as it was having to take time out of my summer for 2x a day each week after a long day of work, Tim made my experience very enjoyable, as he was always positive and fun to be around. I'll miss working with Tim. I hope other people take advantage of the fact that they can work with someone who does a great job and truly cares about their patients like Tim does.

After taken a serious fall down a flight of stairs and tearing my patella tendon, I needed physical therapy and rehabilitation to walk again. They worked in a format that was personalized for my condition and the injury i sustained. Dr. Julie understood my injury and developed a plan and program for me to gradually increase my capbilities. She constantly assesed my progress and changed my exercises and movments to work on my weaker areas. I ran my first half marathon yesterday! After achilles tendinitis caused me to miss the Rocky Run in November, I worked with Jake over the winter. He took baseline measurements of my ankle mobility and thanks to our sessions a few times a week and doing my homework, my final measurements were markedly better. I continue to do two of my exercises daily. From the front desk to the doctors, Breakthru Marlton is relaxed, friendly, and eager to get to know you. My experiences working with Jake and Kennedy were great. I have gone to other physical therapists in the past, and I felt very at home and supported here and am grateful to know where to go in the future. They are also LGBT friendly.
